The storybook town of Celebration, outside of Orlando, where Disney’s theme parks are located, was where I spend my 4th of July, in costume with The 501st Legion, doing Snake Plissken, instead of my usual Imperial Officer. After spending the afternoon with the crowds, we were allowed access to the VIP area behind the stage, sitting right on the steps that led into the big pond, under which the fireworks were set off.
Enjoy the pictures!
Below: My costume of that of Snake Plissken, from the film Escape From New York, a cult science-fiction film. My buddy Brian is in the Darth Vader costume; we carpooled up together for this event
Snake Plissken goes to Jurassic Park
Below: After being in costume we were allowed to watch the fireworks from he VIP access area, right on the steps that led into the big pond; front-row seats for the fireworks. Crowds gathered to wait for the show to begin
Below: Because we were right on the water, I was able to photograph the reflection of the fireworks on the inky surface of the water, to interesting effect. The show was a good one, accompanied by theme music from Star Wars, Star Trek, The X-Files, and other sci-fi movies and TV shows
